An amazing place with soul. Dinner was truly a great experience from the moment we walked it, the stuff recommended perfect dinner options and one of the best wines I tried (local - Antonin chardonnay). The food was delicious- we got starters Risotto and smoked duck and for main we got local fish and rabbit. Very unusual choices ended up being the highlight of our trip. Definitely recommend!

Gorgeous restaurant, excellent food and friendly staff. Had a meal here with my boyfriend, both of us having the octopus for starter which was potentially the best octopus I’ve ever had. I had the lamb for main which was fabulous and my boyfriend had the rabbit. Unfortunately we think his rabbit was a bit over reduced as it was very salty bur as soon as we mentioned this to the staff the replaced it very quickly and what came out was absolutely delicious. We wouldn’t hesitate to return if we found ourselves back in Valletta and would absolutely recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We visited Rubino, which was recommended by Robert Makłowicz, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation. We came in with a baby and were immediately made to feel welcome. The staff even mentioned they had just made potatoes and asked if we’d like unsalted mashed potatoes for the baby, which was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. We started with the chicken liver, which was top-notch — beautifully prepared and full of flavour. For mains, both of us wanted the same dish (sea bass), and instead of just taking the order, the waiter suggested we choose another dish as well and then served us half of each so we could try both. That level of care and confidence in the food really stood out. Everything was cooked to perfection and served exactly as it should be. The service was genuinely lovely from start to finish, attentive without being intrusive. A fantastic experience all around. Proper hospitality and excellent food — we’ll definitely be back.
