About
Sabbagata in St. Julian's is a refined bistro offering modern Euro-Sicilian and authentic Italian cuisine. Founded by Chef Salvatore Pavone in 2020, the restaurant is named after a combination of his nickname "Sabba" and his wife Agata’s name. The menu focuses on high-quality, local KM0 produce, featuring creative sea charcuterie, aged fish specialties, and traditional recipes from the chef’s native Messina. With its cozy and professional atmosphere, Sabbagata provides homemade bread and pasta alongside a variety of dietary options, including gluten-free and vegan choices. It is an ideal destination for those seeking innovative Mediterranean flavors and genuine Sicilian hospitality in the heart of Paceville.

I've been here a few times on different occasions and with different people. Each time we've had a wonderful experience. The food is fantastic and one of the owners is celiac so most of the options are gluten free. I love all the courses, and each time I visit I have to have more than one dessert.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic lunch experience! We had a truly lovely lunch at Sabbagata and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. From the raw seafood to the perfectly cooked pasta and the excellent main courses, every dish was a real pleasure. Even dessert was outstanding! The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and the attention to detail in every plate is clear. On top of that, the prices are very fair for the level of food and service — excellent value for money. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was kind, attentive, and professional without being intrusive. It was the kind of lunch that turns into a memorable experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Genuinely authentic and seriously good Sicilian modern-meets-tradition restaurant. A comfortable, relaxed restaurant serving world class food. This restaurant is doing the best most interesting Sicilian food in Malta (I’ve travelled throughout Sicily, lived in Malta over a decade). Wow. Recommend the cured tuna/fish and any pasta. And the caponata. And the bread. And everything!!
