About Legligin

Situated in the heart of Valletta, Legligin offers Mediterranean cuisine with a strong Maltese touch in the form of an 8-course tasting menu (T&Cs). You can also choose vegetarian (not vegan) or pescatarian tasting menu options. A la carte options are NOT available.

You can enjoy a memorable restaurant experience at Legligin Valletta which has 3 dining rooms for tables of 2 as well as groups of 4 to 6 persons. Each room has its own separate entrance and is a fantastic location for small groups.

For the groups of 10 and over the restaurant is requesting a €20 deposit per person.

We didn't want a full meal - just a drink and nibbles- and we ended up by having to order a full 7 course meal. This should be clearly explained BEFORE you settle down at table. Not very fair !!

What a great experience we had at Legligin. We did the tasting menu with pairings. One of us had the vegetarian option. All the dishes were great. The staff were friendly and the sommelier was quite knowledgeable about local wine.

We were so disappointed after reading all the favourable reviews. We had booked a table 10 days previously but the restaurant had no record of our booking. We weren’t made to feel welcome & had a poor table by the toilets. We felt the food to be very basic & came in a strange sequence. 7 courses the fish was served after meat& no dessert. The last course was rabbit stew with mashed potato. We were told dessert was extra but by this time we were full. The quantities are generous but food liked any finesse we might have expected from a tasting menu. The service was efficient but didn’t feel friendly & no real eye contact or conversation beyond explaining the dish. There are much more welcoming establishments with superior food in Valletta

The tasting menu was uninventive, not fresh and tasteless. E.g. one of the choices was a tuna pasta. However, the tuna seemed off. Fish soup , a bit too fishy, for my liking. All of this food can be amazing if cooked with care and attention. However, you may be more forgiving than me. But in my opinion, pants, pants, pants! Go somewhere else!

Everything excellent but the music was not adept … Guns n Roses November Rain is my fave song of all time but it doesn’t blend well with ambience of the place, and neither did the other songs. Go for something authentic, local … a nice experience incorporates all senses including what you hear Apart from this excellent food and will def suggest and return

Such lovely food - best lasagne (not your standard lasagne- think almonds , lemon zest) ever, great salami with fennel, mussels were superb and the list of superlatives extends to wine list where we discovered an excellent selection of Maltese wines..the service was very hospitable and kind. One of the top 5 dining experiences of my life. A perfect alchemy of warm ambience, sensational & delicious - really, really, really out of this world delicious food & gorgeous, perfectly paired wine and exceptionally friendly service; transports you into paradise. It felt as though we were eating in the kitchen of the owners home - such a humble vibe for such a mind-blowing experience.
